云南澄江：湖泊拥抱的化石小城 Chengjiang: A City Known for Fossils and Embraced by Fuxian Lake
云南玉溪澄江市，这座被湖泊拥抱的化石小城，宛若一方璞玉藏于云南中部群山之中。 Chengjiang City is situated in Yuxi, Yunnan Province. With a precious fossil site, and embraced by Fuxian Lake, Chengjiang is like an uncarved jade hidden among the mountains in central Yunnan.
这座“七山二水一分坝”的城市，北以梁王山为背椅，南以抚仙湖为前池，东有帽天山静卧，西有老虎山低伏，碧绿如翡翠的澄江坝子居中铺展，共同绘就成一幅迷人的水墨画。 This city is a basin embraced by mountains and water, with Liangwang Mountain on the north, and Fuxian Lake on the south, Maotian Mountain on the east, while Laohu Mountain on the west. Blending all these elements together, the landscape of Chengjiang is very much like a captivating ink-wash painting of nature.
静卧东南的帽天山，因发现寒武纪古生物化石群而闻名。以帽天山为核心的澄江化石地“再现”了5.18亿年前海洋生物的面貌，为证明寒武纪生命大爆发的存在提供了大量依据，也使得澄江成为名副其实的“地球生命起源地”。2012年，澄江化石地被列入《世界遗产名录》。 Maotian Mountain, lying serenely in the southeast, is renowned for the discovery of the Cambrian fossil biota. Centered on Maotian Mountain, the Chengjiang Fossil Site revives the appearance of marine organisms from 518 million years ago, providing abundant evidence for proving the existence of Cambrian Explosion, and also making Chengjiang a veritable cradle of life on earth. The Chengjiang Fossil Site was listed as a world heritage in 2012.
抚仙湖环湖的公路如银色丝带，将波光粼粼的抚仙湖与翠峰连绵的群山连接在一起。湖畔的村落依山而建，人们逐水而居。 ┗ The highway circling Fuxian Lake is like a silver ribbon, linking the shimmering lake with the rolling green mountains. The residents here like to live by the water, so they built villages along the shore, against the hills.
澄江，一个依山傍水的宜居小城，城景相融、显山露水、错落有致、疏密有度的空间格局，让居民望得见山、看得见水。 Chengjiang, a livable city nestled by mountains and waters, boasts a spatial pattern so that people can enjoy the scenery in urban area. The mountains stand clearly visible, and the waters stretch out freely. The layout is well-proportioned and the density is properly balanced — allowing residents to catch sight of the mountains and glimpse the waters anywhere in the city.
